Do you take requests?
Absolutely. If you want a variation on something you see on this site, or even if you have an idea that you don't see here anywhere, just email us or use our online request form and we'll see if we can do it and what it will cost.

I already have a yo-yo, can I send it to you to mod?
Yee you can... but please contact us first to let us know what you have in mind. We actually receive a lot of these requests. Many players have yo-yos from their parents or from when they were kids, or just a mysterious yo-yo that they found in a closet or drawer somewhere. If you want to mod something you already own, send us an email and let us know what you have and your budget. We'll take a look at the size and shape and we'll let you know what all of the possibilities are within your price range.

Do you make custom pogs/sidecaps?
Yes we do. We don't make less than 20 at a time though (well we could, but it would cost way too much money to make it worthwhile). If you want 20 or more custom sidecaps, please email us or use our request form and send us the yo-yo type you want them for and an approximate count of how many you want. We can then come up with an estimated cost. See some of our recent sidecaps.

Which bearing system is best?
For vintage bearing mods, I recommend Spintastics. Don't be fooled by the higher price tag on Duncan bearings - the reason they are more expensive to use in vintage mods is because they are trickier to install and so you are paying more money because it takes more time, not because the parts are superior in quality. SPR systems also work well in vintage mods, but are far more expensive to install and more expensive to purchase. We may be adding these as options soon.

For non-bearingized mods, it really becomes a matter of personal preference. Since very few yo-yos can use more than one size bearing in them, you are best off actually playing with a yo-yo first to see what you prefer, or maybe asking us (or other yo-yo players) about the specific yo-yo/bearing combination you are interested in.

Which response system is best?
This really depends on what you want to do with the yo-yo. If you really need to read the answer to this question, then the answer for you is most likely 'the one that came with the yo-yo'. SPR systems and recessed stickers are generally only for advanced players. If you want something that comes back to your hand when called, then just use a starburst (maybe with a sticker over it) or a single or double o-ring.

Can you dye a yo-yo any color?
Not exactly. First of all, dyeing does not replacethe original color, and we can't bleach yo-yos. If a yo-yo is blue, we can't make it white, or red, or yellow. We *might* be able to make it green (add yellow) or purple (add red) or blue-green (add green) or something like that - but to reiterate: We can't change the base color and we can't make a yo-yo lighter in color. We also can't make a transparent yo-yo solid or vice-versa. If you have a yo-yo that you want in a specific color, see if the yo-yo was ever manufactured in that color and if it wasn't then see if it was ever made in white. See some dye jobs.

Do you make trades or take trade-ins?
Yes we do. We only take trade-ins or make trades for yo-yos we actually want to play with or stuff we can use to make mods with. Broken yo-yos are often good trades because they aren't playable but we can usually use them as organ donors. Vintage stuff is usually only considered if it is a butterfly shape and the condition is acceptable, but it never hurts to ask. We also keep a page on this website of yo-yos we would definitely consider trading for.

What's New

2008

I am the busiest man on the planet. As such, I have greatly reduced my yo-yoing activities.

Currently I plan on producing 1 or 2 yo-yos per week and selling them on ebay.

I should have the home page redone for 2008 by June 1st.

"It was worth the wait. I really enjoy the yo-yo you modified for me. It is a pleasure to play."
- Don
